- Be honest about the injustices done on behalf of the privileged body, or bodies, that you belong to. Denial is flat-out dishonest and it completely discredits the experiences and feelings of those on the receiving end of the injustices.
- Realize that no matter what body you identify with, it has been exploited or manipulated by unjust people and structures--"man's inhumanity to man."
- Don't allow corrupt people to high-jack and redefine your narrative. Speak out against it boldly. More importantly, let your actions serve as a counter example to their personal agendas. "Lighthouses blow no horns; they only shine."
- Recognize (and, really, don't waste time in defense of) sweeping generalizations and association fallacies against the body that you identify with. The failure of Christian believers to adequately follow the teachings of Jesus is not a sufficient condition to dismiss the veracity of the core beliefs of Christianity. There are a wide variety of groups associated with Christianity (e.g., conservative republicans whose policies have been conflated with Christian doctrine -- refer back to #2). These individuals and their actions do not speak for you.
- Choose happiness. There is no shortage of armchair revolutionaries and perpetual soapboxers on "upper-echelon Twitter". People who are, by and large, disinterested in fruitful, civil discourse and would rather alley-oop your tweets to their followers, and then engage in a game of "Let's See Who Can Get The Most Retweets Validating Their Argument." ReBlogged: 10 Reasons Why Y'all Can Have the Club Scene
Sep 22, 2012
1. After a certain age, it's just not OK for grown men to participate in dance crazes, i.e. "The Stanky Leg" and "The Dougie". And in the club that's all you see, groups of grown men huddled up beside one another shucking and jiving together. Now I don't know what hood y'all from, but that ish don't fly in the 'Burbs. Besides, I don't dance no more all I do is this:
2. Nowadays people have no concept of personal space, at all! And I don't do well with folk in my bubble while in the grocery store, much less a 40x40 box where there is no way to escape the heat....the stank....and the sweat. And somebody had the AUDACITY to tell me the other day that sweat was a natural aphrodisiac. *blank stare*
3. You see the same people over and over again. No matter the promotional squad throwing the party. No matter the venue. No matter if it's an 80's party, ladies free before 11 or if it's a Jersey Shore party, everybody free with a student ID. The same group of grown niggas gon' be in there huddled up closely, shucking and jiving and the saaaame group of girls gon' walk out the club with their heels in hand, feet lookin' like this:
4.There's always a group of girls who came to the club for the sole purpose of being antisocial. Dressed to KILL. H-h-hair done, nails done, everything did. But they didn't pay extra to guarantee themselves solidarity in the VIP section. Noooo. Where do these pseudo-bougie ladies post up? Smack dab in the middle of the dance floor. But don't ask them to dance, 'cause they ain't here for that. They're apparently havin' a book club meeting.
5. There's always a group of dudes who came to the club for the sole purpose of fighting. They don't talk. They don't dance. They don't do virtually anything. That is until this song comes on...
...now all of a sudden they jumpin' all over the place punchin' people in the back of the neck! Niggas!
6. There's always that girl in the club who has to take it 12 notches TOO FAR. Commonly known as "The Baby Girl". 20 minutes into the Go Go set, shawty done came out all her clothes and coincidentally, people keep catching an aroma that resembles Captain D's. To each his own though! Make that paper don't let that paper make you!!
7. Then there's "those guys". The group of dudes that are too cool for school. You can't miss them because they're glowing like Rick James. These niggas have on the typical uniform of slacks, bow-ties, and the occasional blazer. They look like a debate team, but you don't want to test these goons because God forbid anything get in the way of them "winning". Some of 'em got money, but some are just tag-alongs. And you can bet at least one will have a bottle of something-or-another in his hand, acting like he bought the whole bar out. But at the end of the day, it's just one bottle. One $60 bottle of something-or-another.
9. When the club let out, you got people that try to milk a good moment for everything it's worth. Maybe the club was jumpin'. The music was right all night. Everybody was dancing. But eventually, all good things must come to an end. Some people don't get that. The lingerers who follow girls all the way to their car? Yeah. Shoutout to you creepers.
10. The club is relationship suicide. Men act like they're OK with some pooputt dry-humping their queen on the dance floor, but not 'round'ese parts, turbo. And seeing as though one of the cardinal rules of the club is NO HANDCUFFING, there is no reason for me to be there.
The End.
The RNC. Clint Eastwood. Imaginary Obama. And the 'Welps' Thereafter...

Pot Callin' the Kettle Cheap
Feb 5, 2012
In the days of fairy-tales and rom coms, it seems as though traditional dating expectations, such as men footing the bill, aren't going anywhere anytime soon. But what happens when a man is unable (or doesn't feel obligated) to abide by this old-school etiquette? Should he simply stop approaching women until he can afford to pay for dates or should he try his luck in hopes of finding a woman who doesn't mind going dutch, or worse, treating him?
For many women, it's a deal-breaker if a man tries to play a friendly game of Who's Gonna Grab The Checkbook First on a date. I can't say I blame 'em. However, a line has to be drawn retnah between expressing your preferences and alienating everyone and everything that doesn't meet your standards. I'll never understand why some women feel comfortable calling men "cheap" or "broke" if he is unable (or unwilling) to do what she expects. Reason being, isn't it a common dating objective among women to get as much free stuff as possible?
Peace FIRST.

TREYNINGDAY APPROVED!
Sep 29, 2011
Everybody and their momma watches CSI, but I've never really been able to get into it. It's not that it's a bad show or anything, but it's missing something.
Well, after watching an episode of the ABC's new take on the classic, Charlie's Angels, I figured out what was missing from CSI. Big, dramatic explosions. A slew of automatic weapons. Fly designer clothes. Fast cars. And most of all, beautiful wominz!
I don't know anything about Rachel Taylor (pictured far left) but apparently she stars in Grey's Anatomy. Minka Kelly (middle) was voted the "Sexiest Woman Alive" by Esquire magazine last year and I ain't mad at it. Lastly, y'all might recognize Nigerian-American, Annie Ilonzeh (far right), who starred on a few episodes of Entourage recently. She is just.... ==> bruh, look.
Alllllll that aside, it's really entertaining and there was a recent addition to the show this week. Y'all might recognize 'em.
Isaiah Mustafa aka, the "Old Spice Guy". Bruh can actually act, too!
Check the show out for yourself, Thursdays at 8.

I cannot wait! I honestly got chills thinking about how good Wale's second album will be.
I remember having to go on a 6-store journey to find a copy of his debut release, Attention Deficit (which was HIGHLY undershipped). This time around I won't have to worry about any of that because of Wale's decision to sign with MMG!
He won.
I won.
ReBlogged: How to Make Kool-Aid...like a real G!
Aug 14, 2011

I felt as though this post was imperative because as the weather starts to warm up and cookouts are being held....somebody, somewhere, is going to be drinking Kool-Aid when they aren't taking Corona's to the brain, of course. So, I'll spare you the small talk and get ride down to the nitty-gritty....
Step 1:
Purchase the Kool-aid from your local Wal-Mart, Piggly Wiggly or corner store. Now, buying Kool-Aid is not like buying paper towels. You can't just pick up an off brand and expect to get the job done because your Kool-Aid will taste more like sugar water as opposed to Grape Drank. Go ahead and buy the official "Kool-Aid" brand packs that run 3 for $1 or just pay 5 bones and get a 20-ounce drink mix.
(I prefer the little packets myself.)
Step 2:
Get you a pitcher big enough to feed a family of 5. A lot of people cannot cook in bulk, but the last thing you want to do is whip up a personalized helping of Kool-Aid, and then come to the 'fridge a day later and find out that Uncle June Bug drank it all. On a more serious note, if you can find a glass pitcher...use that! Have you ever wondered why people do wine-tasting in glasses? Well, it's not because they are trying to be bourgeois, but other materials such as Styrofoam and plastic can alter the chemical composition of a drink and make it taste differently.
Step 3:
Take two Kool-aid packets and pour them into your container. A lot of people use the same flavored packs, but I typically like to mix two different flavors and create my own little masterpiece. Again, whatever floats your boat.
Step 4:
Pour HOT water into the container with the Kool-Aid packs. I know that you are going to want to taste the Kool-Aid after you make it....but, just put some ice in a cup and sit it to the side for when you are finished. Warm water makes the crystals dissolve better and the taste of your drink will be noticeably different.
Step 5:
Pour sugar into the container with the water and Kool-Aid mix. The right amount of sugar is critical! Add too little sugar, and you might as well be drinking Gatorade. Add too much sugar, and your drink will taste like cough syrup. For those of you who cannot eye-ball it and pour the sugar into the container right out of the bag....start with 3 cup fulls of sugar, stirring while you add the sugar and taste it to see if its right. If not, add a little more sugar to it. Typically, you know you have enough sugar when the shade of your drink has gotten 3 or 4 shades darker.
Voila! Now you ready to sit back, relax, and consume so much Kool-Aid that you get sugar diabetes!!! Mind you, there is nothing ghetto, hood, or demeaning about drinking Kool-Aid. I'm pretty sure John McCain drinks it. This is has been a public service announcement from your friendly, neighborhood pusher-man. Signing off....
Bucket List #7: Participate in Flash Mob
Jul 22, 2011
Coming in at #7 on my list of things to do before I die is "be apart of a flash mob". I want to do it in the hood at a check cashing place somewhere really, really upscale and I want to make sure that we do extremely risque dances. Those are my only 2 requirements. I really don't care if I'm alone like the guy in the AT&T commercial or if I'm with an army of people. Either way, before I die, I WILL make it happen.
Kbye.
THIS MISTAKE HEARD AROUND THE WORLD

I don't know what's more funny, the girl's mishap or the way Drake Diddy bopped past Vanna White in order to get his award. Either way, I laughed 'til I couldn't laugh no mo' last night. And this little mistake got that girl 20,000 followers on Twitter in record time! The power of social media is incredible, g.
Beware of Marvin's Room
Jun 19, 2011
Marvin has Drake calling up his ex-girlfriend and telling her to dead her current relationship because he wants her back.
Marvin has JoJo calling HER ex, too. Not only that, she's also "going to send a sexy picture to remind [him] what [he's] giving up".
I can'eem count how many times I've seen someone tweet "I'm on my Marvin's Room flow tonight about to do something I'll probably regret" or something along those lines. Clearly "Marvin's Room" has become a euphemism for Lonely Denamug. TLC's Chili probably spends a lot of time in Marvin's Room. Jazmine Sullivan is very familiar with his room, I'm sure. Adele, also a frequenter of Marvin's Room. And worst of all, many of you are one drunk night away from visiting Marvin yo'self cause Drake has made it cool to be lonely.
I don't quite know what you had envisioned when you were listening to these songs, but I'm here to warn you, doe. This is what Marvin's Room looks like:
I used to think music was just poetry over a nice melody, something that you could vibe to, but NAWL. Kanye got broke, college-aged dudes trying to be pompous A-holes, in the club spending work study money on bottles of Crown. Beyonce has girls calling up old flings talmbout "I used to want you so bad/ I'm so through with that/ Cuz honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had/" and then hanging up the phone immediately afterwards. And now Dr. Drizzy is pumping everyone full of despair.
Skraight up, if this song makes any of you call up your ex, I wish you niggas the best of luck and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.......... ....... ....... ...
And on the contrary, if your ex calls you singing "F-ck that nigga that you love so bad/ I know you still think about the times we had" and you actually consider leaving the person that you're with, I hope y'all accidentally have baby girls that look just like Drake.
Music is good. Music is necessary. Music is cathartic even. But when it starts having an effect on your REAL LIFE decision making skills, it becomes a problem!!!

Numbers Lie, Too.
May 26, 2011
If I never heard the phrase "men lie. women lie. numbers don't." ever again for the rest of my life, I would die a happier man. No exaggeration. Reason being: Numbers lie, too.
I'm tired of people slangin' statistics around to bolster their argument, as if numbers are some automatic trump card. Recently, I heard someone say, "more black men are in prison than in college". That couldn't be any further from the truth. Nevertheless, MANY people believe in such nonsense because with a little manipulation of words and any number greater than 30%, anyone can become a master debater nowadays.
I threw the following image together in paint to further illustrate how numbers can also lie. (I think I saw this in sociology class before, btw):
Just looking at this chart, one could say "There is a positive correlation between icecream sales and homicide cases. As icecream sales increase, so does the # of homicides". And they would be RIGHT! But it doesn't take into account the extraneous variable of heat and its effects on the rise in icecream sales and homicides.
I swuhfolawd, I'ma lose it if I hear someone say that numbers don't lie. The fact of the matter is men lie, women lie, and numbers lie. And most importantly, people are too lazy to fact check, use active thought, and discern truth from error. The end.
Ramblings of Me....
May 13, 2011
Everybody got something to say, but nobody wants to listen
Like, how many people y'all know are aware and actually willing to admit that they're lame? Conceited? Self-righteous? Downers? Bitter? Don’t worry, I’ll wait….
I mean, Trey Songz had the audacity to say he Invented Sex
You see, people’s perception of self is often times skewed. Delusions of grandeur are at an all time. We sit around on social sites and analyze this situation, and analyze that situation. We analyze this person, and analyze that person but not enough people are taking the time out to analyze themselves.
Instead of brushing off all unfavorable criticisms, it’s good to take heed and actually apply some of 'em. Yes, sometimes you have to sift through some nonsense because not everyone knows, or even cares to learn, how to express themselves . Either way, you just never know what kind of gems are hidden behind poor deliveries.
So, with that said...y’all excuse me while I go do some introspective thinking....
