Fantasia's current situation is really, really unfortunate. The details of her alleged affair are neither here, nor there to me. When someone tries to take their own life, people should be running to provide support instead of making light of the situation and speculating like TheYBF has been doing non-stop.

I previewed her album, "Back to Me" last night and it's a breath of fresh air, in spite of her current problems. She sounds amazing! This album is dropping August 24th and I will be getting it, as I hope you will, too.

Joanne Stefani Germanotta aka Lady Gaga & Onika Maraj aka Nicki Minaj. One's pop. One's hip-hop. And with polar opposite fan bases, one would never think to make a connection between the two. A lot of people I know are fans of one and hate the other and I find that RATHER confusing. The same reasons Lady Gaga receives praise, are the same reasons Nicki Minaj receives hate. Before you go choosing sides, peep out how painstakingly obvious it is that these two were indeed separated at birth:

Both hail from New York. I know you're like, so what? Mere coincidence, right. Well I say it just strengthens my argument that they were born to the same parents. Moving on.

Both were extra regular at the onset of their careers. Take a look at Joanne's picture and tell me if you would go "Gaga" over her 2 years ago? And Onika looks more like a Cabbage Patch kid than a Barbie doll but I digress.


Both of them "branded" themselves to break into mainstream. Now when most artist go commercial and create an image for themselves, people complain that they are "selling out". Many people say that Nicki Minaj is very fake and fabricated, and after signing with Young Money she lost her true self. NEWSFLASH: Nobody knew about her before and now even Harriet the Spy knows her songs. All the while, Lady Gaga gets mad respect for her "groundbreaking originality"...............oh, ok?


Both are bisexual...or something like that. It's obvious that Lady Gaga is very open when it comes to her sexual orientation and she garners a lot of popularity because her videos reflect that. And Nicki. Well. We know that "If she's in yo city, she's signin them Tig ol' bitties".

Both have a huge, cult-like following. Say what you want, but these ladies have twice as many followers as they do haters. And they've both taken it upon themselves to name those followers, "Little Monsters" and "Barbies" respectively. The day Jay-Z or Rick Ross take it upon themselves to name their fans, I'm going to throw away all of my CD's and listen to Indie Rock for the rest of my life.

Both are EXTRA.AS.HECK. Green hair. White hair. Red face masks. Midgets. Pink Lamborghini Murcielagos. Nudity. Flames. Fireworks. ANYTHING is liable to pop off when these two are in the room. Lady Gaga's lyrics aren't as blunt as Nicki Minaj's but she makes up for it with her wardrobe.

All of this evidence. All of these similarities. And you still mean to tell me that Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga aren't one in the same? I just cannot see how you can praise one and not the other, simultaneously. I'm all ears though if you're willing to explain? I respect both of their hustles. Work the game, because CD's aren't moving like they used to. Create a different sound, a different look, and people will follow. Now excuse, I got some music to download. *Drops mic. Closes laptop*

No that is not Dwayne Wade and Mary J. Blige before she got on. Nor is that his momma. NOR is it Franky. Yo, that woman is D'Wade's ex wife, with a face only a mother could love. I placed an extraaa emphasis on wife, because he made a conscious decision to actual MARRY this woman at one point. I don't know if they have kids, he could have gotten trapped. My LIFE, your entertainment....but why?

Sometimes I think that because celebrities are so accessible, and we know the ins-and-out of what they're doing on the daily, we think that we're entitled to make assumptions and pass judgment on what they should or should not be doing outside of the realm of performance.

In light of Jay-Z being scrutinized for his relationship with Christ, or lack thereof, I've been thinking a lot about the role of celebrities in our society and this is the stance that I take:
Personally, I've always tried to separate the entertainer from the service that they provide. Believe it or not, what celebrities do is really no different than any other job, except that get paid more. Musicians, actors, and athletes are all responsible for providing a good to the public, just like someone who works a 9 to 5 at Wal-Mart.

I never give thought to the fact that the cashier at McDonalds might fight dogs and street race illegally on the weekends with his niggas because none of that matters as long as he/she serves my food with a smile and doesn't forget to gimme my drink WITHOUT ice. So, in the same token, how can I chastise a celebrity for the life that they lead, as long as they aren't slacking in the good that they provide (aka their job). Shouldn't it be solely up to the celebrities boss or governing organization to have a say how they should and shouldn't act, just to protect profit....not up to us to speculate?

Take Tiger Woods for instance...
All of the coverage behind his affair should not have affected people's perceptions of him as an ATHLETE. Yet and still, some people immediately cried out that he should be suspended as if he had been accused of steroid usage or something relevant to his JOB. Currently, there is no separation between the work place and the personal life's of these people. And as someone who reads about celebrities all the time, I could care less about their downfalls cause it's gon' come a time for them to meet their Maker, just like me. All I care about is that they serve me with a smile and don't forget to hold the ice in my drink!

So, every since Common and Serena became an item, he has been losing weight quicker than a drug addict. And I don't understand if its a choice that he made on his own (because being around the physically-fit Serena made him a little self-conscious) orrrrrr she told him that he would have to lose a few pounds in order to keep up. Either way, her frame takes up a LOT of space, so it makes no sense to me that Common is shedding pounds instead of bulking up. So Common, if you are reading this (hey, we can all dream, right?) put down the dumbbell and pick up a drum-stick, preferably fried.
