The more you know, you know?

Feb 26, 2011

I'll be the first to say that I am geographically challenged. I'm better than this girl, but I still have my moments. And with all that is going on in the Middle East, I find it hard to mentally picture where this stuff is occurring when watching CNN.

But thanks to the good people over at Google, nothing is impossible. So after a little digging, I found a Middle East for Dummies caliber breakdown of the countries.

Photobucket
The Middle East refers to countries that lie between Africa and Asia, at the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Sometimes the countries of North Africa are included as well.
  • Most of the countries in the Middle East are Arab and they all speak the same language - Arabic. Iran is not an Arab country and Iranians speak Persian.
  • Most people in the Middle East are Muslim, except for people who live in Israel. Israel is a Jewish country and Israelis speak Hebrew, although some also speak Arabic and are Arab.
A bruva spent 5 minutes studying this map, and now I'm equipped to whip niggas over the head with semi-informed discussion, ya dig? No need to thank me, my children.

Chea!

It's always good to know what's going on in the world around us.
