I'll be the first to say that I am geographically challenged. I'm better than this girl, but I still have my moments. And with all that is going on in the Middle East, I find it hard to mentally picture where this stuff is occurring when watching CNN.
But thanks to the good people over at Google, nothing is impossible. So after a little digging, I found a Middle East for Dummies caliber breakdown of the countries.
The Middle East refers to countries that lie between Africa and Asia, at the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea.A bruva spent 5 minutes studying this map, and now I'm equipped to whip niggas over the head with semi-informed discussion, ya dig? No need to thank me, my children.
- Sometimes the countries of North Africa are included as well.
- Most of the countries in the Middle East are Arab and they all speak the same language - Arabic. Iran is not an Arab country and Iranians speak Persian.
- Most people in the Middle East are Muslim, except for people who live in Israel. Israel is a Jewish country and Israelis speak Hebrew, although some also speak Arabic and are Arab.
Chea!
