What I Learned Today

I've been kind of bothered lately by some of the things that people say on social networking sites regarding Christianity, and religion in general. It just seems like no matter what, something impious makes its way into my timeline or newsfeed everyday, b.

Well, of course when you are dealing with something in life, what generally happens? God gives you a word that pertains to that something. So, in learning about the Beatitudes (Sermon on the Mount), these verses came up:
"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me."
Matthew 5:10-11
God's promise of persecution is something that many believers aren't too adamant to claim. To be honest, who looks forward to being constantly attacked for what they believe in? Nevertheless, it is written that all those who serve God will be persecuted because righteousness, by nature, is confrontational. In spite of that, people shouldn't waver or deny their faith. Continue to Love God. Serve God. Love people. And if you receive persecution for THAT, then you should rejoice, for you are blessed. Peace!
