Drake vs. Trey Songz. Who you rollin' wit'?

Jun 9, 2009

Sooo, word in the streets Trey Songz is going to drop 2 songs every Monday until his album drops. Annnd the hype behind Drake right now is so crazy that he is actually starting to pop up on songs with artists outside of Young Money. Both of them have similar styles, possessing the ability to sing and then turn around and spit a hot 16 like they were born to rap. They both have a pretty nice fan-base and while Drake is trying to live up to his hype, Trey Songz is finally getting the respect that he deserves. They both are working on monster albums that supposedly have crazy features. So, with that said…who is the best? Who takes the title of the best singer/rapper—Drizzy or Trigga Trey? And don’t cop out and say they don’t compare, because they are basically mirror images of one another.

In my opinion, Drake gets the nod in the lyrics department. His similies and metaphors are crazy, while Trey Songz elicits a response by mentioning sex in different ways. It's obvious that Trey Songz gets the edge when he sings. Although I don’t like his whiny-sounding runs, he has a playful sound and can mold his style to fit any beat...and I do mean ANY beat. Drake has the edge when he spits because his delivery is so fluid, while Trey Songz gets another thumbs-up from me because of......his name. He is puttin’ on for the flyest name in the world. Ultimately, I give the edge to...

…Drizzy. He is a beast in the studio and has the potential to blow up. He is also under Lil Wayne, which means he is learning from one of the best in the game. Also, he can easily gain exposure under Lil Wayne. Trey Songz has been on the scene for a miiiiiiinute and is still your neighborhoods favorite, silly rapper/singer guy, bootleggin' niggas beats in an effort to prove a point that he should receive more attention.

Who you ridin' with?

Have to go with Songz. Although Drake is the fan favorite and he is with Young Money, Songz is still growing as an artist. He reminds me of Usher is he first starting; eventhough the album My Way was a success, he did not become Usher "The Mega Star" until the album Confessions.................... BUT TO BE HONEST!! I BELIEVE THAT WIZ KHALIFA IS GOING TO HAVE MORE SUCCESS THAN BOTH OF THEM!!! LOL!
