Funky Four Plus One (aka Funky 4+1) is the first rap group from The Bronx, New York to receive a recording deal. They were also the first rap group to perform live on National TV, Saturday Night Live to be exact, on Valentine's Day. How sweet.

"The original members were The Voice of K.K. aka K.K. Rockwell (Kevin Smith), Keith Keith (Keith Caesar), Sha Rock (Sharon Green), Rahiem (Guy Todd Williams). Rahiem later left the group to join Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five. Sha Rock temporarily left as well, and they were replaced by Lil' Rodney C! and Jazzy Jeff, who became the 'New' Funky Four and with the return of Sha Rock who became the Plus One More."

Shout out to them for paving the way for Cash Money, Maybach Music, Bad Boys and Junior Mafia, Wu-Tang, 2 Live Crew, Naughty By Nature, Three 6 Mafia, Goodie Mob, The Fugees, The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, NWA, Run DMC, and every other historical rap "group" that you can think of!
