I constantly use my blog to discuss issues that are of particular importance to me. As a very opinionated person, I try to make it very clear where I stand. But one of the problems with blogging about my beliefs is that I leave myself open to criticism when my actions don't match up with my expressed ideologies.
In other words, I don't always practice what I preach and people jump at the opportunity to point that out. A lot of people would say that I am fake and to each his own. But I'm honest and can admit that just because I know right from wrong, doesn't mean I'm always going to do right.
I also know how to do algebra. That doesn't mean if you were to give me a worksheet right now I wouldn't miss a few problems. (I hope that analogy worked. It sounds a little worse on here than it did in my head, lol.) Sometimes I'm just going to miss the mark. I don't think that makes me a flat-out hypocrite if I recognize it, can admit to it, and constantly work to close the gap between what I say and what I do. I just don't think one has to be perfect before he/she is in liberty to discuss his/her opinion on something.
I'm sometimes inconsistent, sometimes narcissistic, and at times I suffer from delusions of grandeur. But when I sit down to write I blog I don't think to myself, "how can I offend, chastise, and belittle these folk today". I simply speak what's on my mind and you can take it or leave it. And honestly, I would prefer that some of you leave it.

I love that you analyze many things people tend to just talk about. your ideas on music and hypocrisy, for example.
