My dude Wale released the video for "Pretty Girls" today on 106, but I'm tired of that song. Sue me. I'm more excited over the release of his video for "My Sweetie", a tribute to his Nigerian heritage. I bought the hard-copy of his CD, come to find out this track was reserved for iTunes or something of the sort. Salty can'eem describe how I felt when someone played it for me, and I didn't know what it was. Dope track though and I can appreciate how he takes pride in his background. Peep the video below:

Oh and after I heard it, I knew it sounded familiar, so I did TONS of investigation (by tons, I mean about 30 minutes) trying to figure out what the sample came from. He sampled an old classic, Bunny Mack, "Let Me Love You" and stayed true to the original sound. Check that out, too:

I Love My Sweetie! I have a line sister that is Nigerian & another that is Ghanian so .. I hear a lot of African music lol but this is def on rotation on the iPod.
& The CD is damn good... whether My Sweetie is on it or not. but I'm sure you know that :)

yeah i love this song. i guess i had an older version because that whole last verse is missing on the one i have on my ipod :( oh well! anyways the chick who did the cover of whatever you like is named anya marina. i heard it on gossip girl a few months ago and i think i like this version better! lol. and ima email you about the page stuff too.
