Encouragement

For those of you who have been following my blog, or cared to peep my "About Me", you know that I decided to take some time off after graduation to prepare and apply for graduate school. This period of my life has allowed me to re-up and refocus, but I have also been plagued with feelings of uncertainty. It kind of seems like I'm stuck in limbo and it can be slightly overwhelming at times.

I'm sure you all have felt overwhelmed at one point or another, by impending deadlines, job/internship searches, or whatever the case may be. Well, the book of Psalms or "the book of human emotions" has a scripture for every feeling or experience of the soul. Worry is something I have been dealing with lately and I just wanted to share this with you all in the event that you are feeling the same:
"Cast your cares on the LORD
and he will sustain you;
he will never let the righteous fall."
_Psalm 55:22 NIV
Trust in Him and be worry free in 2011 fam!

This is so real to me right now. I'm graduating in May and after my internship this summer I want to take time to make sure I'm really making the right decision with where and how I start my career. My mother [and a few others with opinions I highly value] aren't really in my corner on this one... But it's what I want and need to do. I agree that this brings on a lot of worry and uncertainty about my future... which are real emotions whether you have a strong faith or not... I appreciate this & your realness about it, but most importantly for staying encouraged through it and sharing that encouragement with the rest of us.

ps. love the "new" layout... I usually read in Google Reader so I haven't been on the site in a while. Looks nice :)

Thanks!

I think there is a stigma associated with "time off" that people just have to overcome. From my personal experience, I have benefited greatly during this time and my college apps are so much stronger than they would have been if I had applied while being a full time student.

I just think if you seek counsel from folk with experience, and make a plan (with multiple options), you can be sure that you aren't wasting time during your "break". There is nothing to worry about.

Don't watch me, w-w-watch my feet....
